I have been cleaning houses as my source of income and I need to know what to bring with me for my appointment to file my taxes & if I will have to pay for tax prep the day I file. I also have a 9 yr old son & I recieve child support which I'm sure isn't included as income.

This year is going to be somewaht difficult. I assume you are paid in cash a lot.
The issue is that if you apply for EIC you should have proof of income.
In the future you should get a notebook and for everytime you clean a house you should put the name and address and how much you are paid.
You should also keep receipts and make a list of all cleaning supplies that you buy.

Anyone running a business needs to keep good records of income and expenses.
If you do a lot of business where you are paid in cash, there are carbon copy receipt books there that you can use. You can give clients a copy and keep one for yourself.
Deposited checks are recorded by banks, so that's another option to improve your tracking of income.
If you have business checking and a business credit card, then showing your income and expenses is going to be a lot easier.
There is also a great deal of accounting software out there to help you keep track of income and expenses--some of it even works on smartphones.
