With the opening of the health care exchanges today we wanted to share some of the common questions we're hearing from clients regarding the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare):
Q: I'm confused about who is affected by this new health care law. Am I required to have health insurance? Who else is?
A: Beginning in 2014, just about everyone in the entire US will need to have health insurance. This means if you are a citizen or a lawfully present alien, you need to make sure you and your dependents are covered by an insurance plan that meets the minimum essential coverage standards.
