Hi omgcali,

Welcome to the H&R Block community.

You've got four options here that will allow you to withdraw the funds:

  1. Link your bank account to your Emerald card.  (This must be done either through your online access or when you apply for the card.)
  2. Withdraw the funds at an ATM machine over the course of a few days and the deposit them.  ATMs at your local 7-11 and CVS stores are free to use with an Emerald card.  The withdrawal limit on an Emerald card is $3,000 per day, but you may have to go to a number of ATM machines to get that much out because of the ATM owner's limit.
  3. Get a money order made out to yourself from Walmart or your local post office.  This will cost you somewhere between $1 and $10 but you'll be able to withdraw more money at once and your bank that you have your checking account with will cash the money order for free (for most banks).  The daily purchase limit on an Emerald card is $3,500.
  4. Get cash back at any store that offers it when you make a purchase.  This is limited by most stores to $100 or $200 at a time so it will take you a little bit longer this way, but there's no charge for cash back.

If you have any other questions I'll be glad to help.
