I've installed the 2017 version of HRBlock_Basic.exe that I just downloaded, and I'm getting the following error in the Windows 10 Application Log every time I try to run the program. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling several times as well as rebooting my computer and I still get the error.

As a last resort, I would try a "clean boot" and re-install the software. The Microsoft site will walk you through a clean boot. My gut feel is that this would have a low probability of fixing the problem. But it is worth a try.
