I am 50 and my wife is 58. We have one HSA account in my name. Our insureance is through my work. Since she is over 55 we contributed $6750 + $1000 to catch up. Is this correct? When I enter $7750 as my contribution the the software says we have $1000 excess contribution.

Welcome to the H&R Block community.
So the reason why the software is showing excess contributions is because this HSA is not in your wife's name. In order to make the catch-up contribution she would have to be the account holder. Your figures are correct though.
If you have any other questions I'll be glad to help.

Thank you Louis. You say my figures are correct. So, does that mean we can contribute $7750 even though the software says it is excess? In other words, it's a bug in teh software?
