This is definitely a glitch in the software.  It will have to be looked at again after the next update to see if it works.  There is supposed to be an update on January 17th.

 

I tried everything possible to get that selection screen to come up again and I couldn't get there.  So let's give it a few days and see what the update does.

It is January 18th, after the supposed date of the update, and I am still having this same issue. It will not allow me to adjust the months for which I had health insurance coverage.

The update hasn't happened yet for the online software.  The date I'm hearing now is the 27th.  No matter what though it has to be done by the 29th so it will be updated within the next week.

Thanks for the update! Can you please reply once it is? I want to finish up my taxes as soon as possible (probably like the rest of the early birds in this thread).

The update finally went through!!

 

There is now a screen that says "Now, tell us when each person in your household had health insurance in 2017", and there is an "Edit" button next to my name, even though I am still in a 1-person household. Clicking the "Edit" button there allows me to select which months I was insured.

 

Thank you to everyone who helped out on this forum. Great support from the H&R Block representatives!

Good Afternoon citizen1.

 

We have the steps to help you resolve this issue. As we see, you have resolved this issue, and are glad to hear this . If you need any additional assistance please let us know. We are going to provide the steps to resolve this issue as well.

 

Go to Federal Tab
Click on Taxes
Click revisit on the ACA topic
Click on the option that applies, if it's partially covered, select that option
Click next to this page What kind of insurance did your household have in 2017?
Select the option that best fits you and click on next
You should be on this page: Here's what you need to know about the ACA.
Click next and this should be the page you see
Let's talk about any nondependents in your household.
After clicking next, this should be the page that comes up Let's talk about marketplace exemptions.
Answer the questions that best apply to you:
Does anyone in your household have a marketplace exemption certificate?
Does anyone in your household have a pending marketplace exemption?
Click next 3 times, then you should now be on this page:
Now, tell us when each person in your household had health insurance in 2017
On this page, you select Edit by the name listed
Once you have clicked on edit, you should be able to notate the months you had insurance.
