I am using H&R Block Deluxe Federal + State, updated to the latest version as of 1/31/2016. I've deleted and filled out the interview 3 times, in order to confirm that there wasn't something I was doing wrong. There are two issues
Issue 1: The name displayed for the form displays as mine, when it was selected to be my wife's
I am filing jointly with my wife. She finished up her last term at school last spring, and has not yet used the lifetime learning credit. We filled out the form, selecting her name in the first screen. As soon as the form is completed and we return to the credits summary screen, my name is next to the entry in the table. Editing the form shows my name selected in the dropdown.
Workaround: when editing, change the value in the dropdown and then click "Back". The value in the row will now display the selected name. However, if I look at the form (using the "Show Form" button at the bottom of the screen), my name is displayed at the very top, and my wife's name is displayed halfway down the page (this may be necessary and required, but it seemed odd to me since it was her credit).
Issue 2: Value from Row 26 ("Has the student been convicted of posession...") does not propogate.
It seems there are two versions of form 8863; one that is filled out when I go through the interview screen, and one that is more extensive that draws from data in the first form. The issue is only displyed when attempting to file with federal, at the very end of the process. It states that form 8863 must have a value for Row 26. When attempting to fix the error, it shows the more extensive version of form 8863. If I attempt to override, it refuses to allow electronic filing. The shorter version of the 8863 form (and the interview) shows Row 26 as filled out and selected.
I was not able to find a workaround, and am currently unable to file electronically.
Please correct this error and let me know when there is an update to the software with the fix.

I've passed your post on to our product team. I'll post feedback when I receive it.

Thank you, Jerry!
I read in another post that the next software update for H&R Block software will be on February 15th. Do you think the fix for these issues will be included in this release?

dcembree and soadshavo56,
Thanks for your patience. The team has discovered an issue based on your feedback and put it a fix. I'm told that currently it is scheduled for the February 12th update. I apologize for the inconvenience of you having to wait. We do appreciate the feedback to identify the issue.

Thank you for the update, and be sure to thank the dev team for me. I actually work as a developer for a retail software product too, so I understand the effort and time that goes into making and supporting a complex program like this. US Tax code is insane, and I'm very greatful that I don't have to become an expert just to file taxes.
Looking forward to the update!

I have spent numerous hours trying to fix this by myself and with someone from HR Block over the phone with no solution other than override the info to fix it but can't e-file. I want to e-file I don't trust the mail with all that information. I see that it will be fixed by the Feb. 12th, do I just update the program? Very fustrated with this!

I have downloaded the patch and run through the interview again (I deleted the orginal form). The name displayed in the credit summary page is now correct, and the value from line 26 was successfully migrated to the main form. I was then able to file electronically.
