If you moved since you filed your last return, you probably arranged to have your mail forwarded to your new address. However, not all post office branches forward government checks.
Notify the IRS of your address change. That way, you'll receive refunds or mail regarding your past and current returns. You can do this by either:
- Full name
- Old and new addresses
- Social Security number (SSN)
If you and your spouse filed as married filing jointly last year but you now live apart, you should each notify the IRS of your new address.
