Filing a complaint against HR rep.

Is there an email for H&R block to send a complaint against a rep or should I just do that with Better Business Bureau and whoever else that needs to be notified.

Hi mperez7,

Welcome to the H&R Block community.

If this was someone in an office then you've got a couple of options.  You can speak to your district manager or call support at 1-800-HRBLOCK.

In the meantime, if there's an issue with your tax return please let me know and if it's something that can be corrected I'll guide you through fixing it.

Re: Filing a complaint against HR rep.

Hi,

Do you know where I could complain about an online representative I have chatted with? I would like to write directly to the CEO about the poorly designed program and about the incompetent and unprofessional representative. I can't efile because of an error within the program. I have to check the box saying that I agree with the electronic payment, but the box is inactive. Two representatives yesterday and six today had "tried" to solve the problem and none of them did it. Instead of transferring me directly to the development department, they follow the protocol and I had to be passed through 3 tier level of "specialists". Today I was on the chat room from 9 a.m. until 4:33 p.m. with no solution. Now I have to wait for another 48 hours in order for the superior level to answer. They all agree that it's a program error because the box that I have to check is not related with any information I input. So much time lost for fixing a small error that is not even mine, but them, it's unacceptable.

Thank you.

zurlita,

Welcome to the Community. I asked someone on our support team to look at your account. They have a left a voicemail for you. There should be notes now in your case to resolve the issue.

Good luck to you.

Re: Filing a complaint against HR rep.

How can I find the district manager?  I have an issue with the local office and office manager.  I call the HR Block line, give the background, the guy says let me verify the local office .... hold for 10 minutes then disconnected.  Attempted to call back and the automated transfers me to an agent....I get a "Please wait" and it hangs up

I'd like to know the same thing! I've called even the toll free number. I cannot reach anyone to help me. I've used H&R for many years, never again!

Re: Filing a complaint against HR rep.

Figured out the trick.  There is NOWHERE that I can find on their website.

Each of the local offices falls under a District Manager.  Go to H&R's find a location near me (or Yellowpages/google, etc) and find an office in your local area OTHER than the one you have an issue with.  Let them know you have an issue with ANOTHER office and that you would like the contact information for the District Manager.  If they do not readily provide it, leave your contact info and ask for the District Manager to contact you.  If this fails, pick yet another office and repeat.

H&R Block folks - any better options?  Still better to keep it internal than having to vent to social media and BBB and ........

Re: Filing a complaint against HR rep.

Has anyone ever been able to file a complaint on an H & R Block representative through email? I have had a horrible experience this year with their services and representatives. I have called H & R Block directly and was told that they would look into the issue and someone would look into the complaint and call me back within 48 hours, that never happened. I have called the office that did my taxes directly and have spoken to the supervisor and she was suppose to call the IRS to retrieve information as to why I have not received my return  (which was the preparers fault) and she has not called me back. It has been over 9 days ago, and every time I call the office they say she is not there. This is rediculous. I am active duty military and have always used them for my taxes but never again after this year.

See above.  I got a very nice response from the District Manager within a day of emailing.  Based on the tone of the email, I have no doubts the issue will be dealt with appropriately.

Re: Filing a complaint against HR rep.

Hi Donovan120203,

Welcome to the H&R Block community.

Your best option is going to be to speak to your district manager.  Go to or call an office other than the one that you went to when you did your tax return and ask to speak to the DM, or for them to call you back.  They will be able to assist you with whatever needs to be done to correct the situation.

Because the community level is run entirely on volunteer power we are unable to assist you with this type of issue at the community level, however you can call support for assistance at 1-800-HRBLOCK if you prefer not to deal with going back to an office or if you cannot get anywhere by going that route.
