Can someone tell me how the fee to take a certifcation exam should be categorized? I am a project manager and I just took my formal exam back in June. Would this be an education expense or a work expense?

PMP is a major certification for project managers.
So, the question really boils down to 'did you need this for your current job or are you trying to get a different job?'
If you're changing jobs or meeting the bare minimum for a profession, it's an educational expense.
