Like the title says, from the filing process and tax questions to tax policy and reform, you can search and share All Things Tax here. This is the place to find answers to all your general questions that don't fall under the other categories. And just a reminder: questions about software or online filing should be posted in DIY Products.

Welcome to the community.
If you paid tax to a state or locality on this income then that amount is deductible on Schedule A. Keep in mind though that your total allowable Schedule A deductions must exceed your standard deduction amount for Schedule A to be of any benefit to you.
Federal income tax paid cannot be deducted, but if you pay it in advance by making estimated tax payments then you do enter those on page 2 of your 1040 and they count into the overall outcome of the return.
If you have any other questions please ask.
