After the H&R Block review process, returns are then transmitted, or sent, to the IRS where they are processed and either accepted or rejected. If your return has been accepted, the IRS has started processing your return. If your return is rejected, the IRS identified an error on your return. You will need to either work with your tax pro to fix the error, or if you’re using one of the do-it-yourself products, fix the error yourself and then submit your return again. Your state return will not be processed until your federal return is accepted. It may also be placed on hold if the IRS is taking longer than expected to process your federal return. Once the IRS has accepted your federal return your state return will be sent to your state tax office for processing.
There are two ways to get your individual refund status.
1. Download the free H&R Block mobile app for the iPhone, iPad, or Android. Open it, and select Refund Status to continue.
2. Visit irs.gov and click Where’s My Refund?
According to the IRS most refunds are issued within 21 days. If there are conflicts between the status shown in the H&R Block mobile app and the IRS’ Where’s My Refund tool, you should work off of the information on the IRS site. H&R Block representatives cannot see or check your refund status on Where’s My Refund.

Hi, I filed with H&R Block and my return was received by the IRS on 1/31, but as of today (2/7), one week later, it's still stuck on the first bar on Where's My Refund. (Received). I filed a simple 1040EZ and am expecting a refund. Does anyone have any idea why my return is still stuck on "received" and hasn't moved to "approved"? Other people are getting their refunds already....I'm getting worried.

We filed on January 31st and it was accepted on that day as well. Every time I look it up, it says we cannot provide any information, give at least 24 hours after receiving notification of acceptance. That was last Friday. Very frustrated because we usually get the anticipation loan check. We have filed for the last twelve years at the office and are disappointed. I am very worried about ours. I need the money to take my girls to their asthma specialist next week.

I filed on the first, had to fix a DOB, so it was accepted on the 3rd according to H&R block. IRS WMR does not even show that it was received as of yet. By friend's was accepted on the 5th, and the IRS shows that it has been received already. I called the IRS, and it is not showing as being received yet. H&R website states to wait another 48 hours, so I did, and still nothing. I am pretty desparate right now. Any thoughts?

I filed last weekend in office. On the IRS, where's my refund? site I have a deposit date of 2/10/14. I opted for the Emerald Card this time. So if the IRS has approved and plans on depositing the money on 2/10, how long does it take to show up on the Emerald Card? No one seems to be able to answer this..

I did the emerald card last year and mine was in the very next day after my deposite date. I do not know if that is standerd thats just how it happend for me last year. Good luck

I hope you were told that you should expect it in 2-3 weeks; I tell my clients that, even though it might be sooner. We can't guarantee how soon the card loads...I hope you took the option of having a text for the Emerald Card loading and expenses listed. It's really good, and will report less than 30 seconds after a purchase or withdrawal, as well as a load, when the balance is affected.
(I use mine every year, and sometimes have had it load as quickly as 48 hours after acceptance, but I don't count on that happenting every year...I use the standard approach of the 2-3 weeks). Hope that helps!
